Rebecca Browning

After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi Rebecca Browning began a thirty-year teaching career in the Mississippi public schools. Today, she works from her studio, Meadow Creek, in New Albany, Mississippi, where she is a printmaker and pastel artist. Considering herself to be a lifelong learner, Rebecca sketches, photos, and studies her natural environment which is the main source of inspiration for her original hand-carved linoleum prints and pastel paintings. The natural world; the creeks, country meadows, and stately gardens provide the element of storytelling that she desires to help the viewers of her works see the delicate balance and interconnection that all living species share! She feels that these connections with our natural environments are vital for our joy and wellbeing.

“When viewing the subjects in my works, I invite that viewer to recall a time of his or her own unique encounters with nature!”
