Tammy Oliver Cook
Tammy Oliver Cook is a native Mississippian. Her passion for oil painting began over three decades ago.
Oil Painters with whom she has studied are Bob Tompkins, Shanna Kunz, Dawn Whitelaw, Roger Dale Brown, Daniel Gearhartz, Richard Kelso and Sammy Britt.
She draws inspiration from George Inness, John Singer Sargent, Richard Schmid, Gustav Klimt and CeciliaBeaux.
She is a member of the Mississippi Plein Air Painters, Mississippi Artists Guild, Oxford Artists Guild, Associate member of the Oil Painters’ of America, the Portrait Painters of America and of the American Impressionists Society.
Whether painting still life, landscape or figures, Tammy’s works have a distinct color harmony. She strives to capture the beauty of light with color and texture that pull the viewer’s eye along a chosen path to evoke a sense of wonder and excitement.
