Carole Pigott, born in Houston, Texas, raised in Jackson, Mississippi, now living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, shows her divided love of the South and the Southwest in her work. With her Eudora Welty Series she follows a path set by Ms. Welty's words to show the landscape in its “magical hours". The series also demonstrates the inspirational connection of creative words and painted images.
Her love of the southwest is demonstrated in her paintings from her studio in the Lone Butte area outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. This “cowboy” country is providing her with an endless supply of long vistas, and stormy skies.
Both sides of Carole’s work will be exhibited at the Marietta/Cobb Museum in Marietta, Georgia from January 12 through March 24, 2019.
