We are excited to have two new (to us) pieces by Jackson, MS artist, Maureen Donnelly. Donnelly studied painting, sculpture, and ceramics at Tulane University. These pieces are oils on canvas that reflect the artist's abiding love of nature, and her interest in texture and color. Donnelly employs palette knives to apply thick, bold strokes of brightly-hued pigment across the surfaces in order to evoke painterly abstract images of aspects of the natural world.
New Work by ED WILLIFORD
If you've visited our gallery before, then you're no stranger to Ed Williford's weird and wonderful sculptural works. Using materials ranging from tape to rusted metals to coffee and turmeric to stain fibers, Williford's visions are inviting, sometimes terrifying, and almost always interactive. The piece featured above, Crescent Cluster on Frame, can be rearranged to suit your space and your fancy.
Don't forget that the Woodcocks and Wine event is going on right now! Head on down to the Gallery for some bird watching, information about local conservation, and, of course, wine and snacks. We'll be here until 8!
Don't forget to mark your calendars for our Ashleigh Coleman reception on Saturday, March 10 from 5-8. Coleman's photographs will be in our gallery within the Gallery, The Roost.
