Spring has sprung here at Oxford Treehouse Gallery. We have so many exciting things going on! Melanie Munns show Pink Fiction will be up in The Roost until mid-May. We're excited to bring in a new artist, Nonney Odlokken, whom you may remember from the Fiber Arts Festival! Odlokken will be our featured artist in May.
In the meantime, we are so excited to have new work from Jan Auleta, whose collage pieces invoke connections with ancient tribal history, Native American images, as well as Central and South American art and culture.
Louisiana Outsider artist, Marshall Blevins, is also sending some of her Southern folklore-inspired pieces in time for Double Decker Arts Festival. We've long admired the Church-Goin', Hell Raisin' sentiments of Blevins' pieces and can't get enough of her cool-colored palette.
Next week is Double Decker, of course! One of the busiest days of the year for Oxford! We'll be on the S. Lamar side of Van Buren in between our buddies, Ellen Langford and Tisch Jewelry Werks. We'll have new work by Benny Melton, Stacey Johnson, David Rawlinson, Sara Teasley, Betty Press, Diane Kilgore Condon, Marshall Blevins, Alan Gross, Laurin, Stennis, and, of course, Walter Neill. We'll also have Vivian's Oxford landmark blockprint tea towels.
